Contact lenses are a popular form of vision correction, but whether contacts are right for you is dependent on a number of factors, including:
- Current eye conditions, such as dry eye
- Eye allergies
- Persistent exposure to dusty environments
- Your lifestyle
Our optometrists are here to help you determine the most suitable vision correction option for your lifestyle and eye health.
Our Disposable Contacts
During a contact lens exam, our team will get to know you and your lifestyle to determine the right lens type for you. We’ll meticulously assess your contact lens preferences, focusing on comfort and visual clarity.
We offer a variety of daily-wear options, including:
- Monthly contact lenses (30-day wear, removed and put in a case with a new solution nightly)
- Bi-weekly lenses
- Daily lenses that you can throw away at the end of the day
In addition to these options, our team does corrections for single vision distance, multifocal lenses (bifocal contacts), monovision correction where one eye is for reading and one eye is for seeing distance, and they work together, and astigmatism “toric” correction.
Ortho-K Contacts
Ortho-k contacts are specialized lenses that reshape the cornea overnight, temporarily correcting myopia and helping slow its progression. This is just one of our several myopia control options.
Multifocal Contacts
Multifocal contacts are a versatile solution that contain multiple prescription strengths in 1 lens. They’re commonly used to correct presbyopia alongside other refractive errors.
Gas-Permeable Contacts
Gas-permeable contacts can offer enhanced comfort and visual clarity for those with astigmatism or hard-to-fit eyes due to conditions like keratoconus.
Scleral Lenses
Scleral lenses are large-diameter, gas-permeable lenses that vault over the cornea and rest on the sclera (the white part of the eye). They correct vision problems caused by keratoconus and other irregular corneal problems.
Proper Lens Care & Storage
Proper contact lens care helps protect your lenses and can reduce the risk of discomfort and infections. Regular cleaning, following your eye doctor’s directions for use, and safe storage practices are essential to maintaining the hygiene and longevity of your lenses. By following these practices, you can maintain clear vision and safeguard your long-term eye health.
Using & Cleaning Your Lenses
- Wash your hands thoroughly before handling your lenses.
- Rub and rinse lenses with the recommended solution.
- Avoid water or saliva for cleaning.
- Follow the replacement schedule as advised by your optometrist.
Storing Your Contacts
- Use a clean lens case and replace it at least every 3 months.
- Fill the case with fresh contact solution daily.
- Make sure your lenses are fully submerged in solution during storage.
- Keep the case in a clean, dry place at room temperature.
